Bama Houston Wins 2022 Out of State Chapter of the Year

Between July 14-16th, several members of the Bama Houston Board of Directors traveled to Tuscaloosa to represent Bama Houston at the National Alumni Association's Annual Leadership Workshop. This workshop allows for leaders of Alabama Alumni Association Chapters all over the country to gather, share ideas, get tips on building their chapters, and learn about current ongoings at the University.

After a very successful first day of panels and keynote speeches from Greg Byrne and other University representatives, Bama Houston's representatives sat down for the chapter awards dinner. We heard a beautiful and heartfelt speech from Chris Stewart of the Crimson Tide Network and then NAA leaders announced awards. It was quite the welcome surprise when they arrived at the Out-of-State Chapter of the Year Award and it was announced that Houston, Texas had been selected out of 65 chapters! The NAA cited specifically our $21K+ raised for scholarship, our out-of-the-box thinking and event planning, our partnerships with local businesses for sponsorships, and our strong website and social media presence as their reasons for selecting our outstanding chapter for this distinction.

As President Ann Kaesermann remarked, "I wish you all could have been there to experience that euphoric moment because it is because of all of you that we were recognized. I am so honored to be a part of such a stellar group."

We want to extend a thank you to each of our members for your support. Without you, we would never have been able to accomplish what we have. And another thank you to our leaders and volunteers for your hard work and dedication to this chapter and its mission.

Renew your membership today to continue supporting our mission and scholarship efforts.
