Join the Houston Alabama Alumni Chapter as we give back to the community through an afternoon of hands-on volunteering with Second Servings, Houston’s only prepared and perishable food rescue organization.

🚐 Activity: Volunteers will help support two delivery vans that distribute rescued, perfectly edible surplus food to nonprofits and families in need.

Second Servings is a highly impactful local nonprofit that rescues nutritious, unserved and unsold food from hundreds of food businesses and redirects it to shelters, soup kitchens, low-income housing communities, and other nonprofits. Their mission is to fight hunger and reduce food waste, providing access to food that would otherwise be thrown away. They have delivered millions of pounds of rescued food since 2015, serving more than 250,000 Houstonians annually.
